How to apply a frosted glass sticker?
Installation Instructions for Frosted Glass Stickers with Transfer Tape
Required Materials:
- The frosted glass sticker with transfer tape
- A squeegee (or a rigid card like a credit card)
- A clean, lint-free cloth
- A spray bottle with water and a small amount of dish soap (optional)
- A cutter or a pair of scissors
- Painter's tape (recommended)
- A ruler or measuring tape
1. Prepare the surface
Ensure the glass is clean, smooth, dust-free, and degreased. Clean the glass with a lint-free cloth. For better adhesion, you can use a solution of water and dish soap.
2. Position the sticker
Unroll the frosted glass sticker and place it on the glass. Use painter's tape to temporarily secure the sticker in the desired position.
Use a ruler or measuring tape to ensure the sticker is properly aligned on the glass.
3. Separate the transfer tape from the backing paper
Carefully peel back one corner of the transfer tape (the transparent film) from the backing paper (the white paper). Make sure the sticker remains attached to the transfer tape.
Continue to slowly peel off the transfer tape while keeping the sticker aligned on the glass.
4. Apply the sticker to the glass
Lightly moisten the surface of the glass with soapy water (5 drops of dish soap per 1/2 liter of water) to make adjusting the sticker easier. This will also help prevent air bubbles.
Apply the sticker with the transfer tape onto the glass, smoothing it by hand to avoid wrinkles or air bubbles.
5. Smooth the sticker
Use a squeegee (or a rigid card) to firmly press over the entire surface of the transfer tape. Start from the center and work your way to the edges to remove air bubbles and water, ensuring the sticker adheres well to the glass.
6. Remove the transfer tape
Important! If you applied soapy water, let the sticker dry for 24 hours before making any final adjustments. All the water must be removed, and the glass should be completely dry.
Once the sticker is well adhered, start slowly peeling the transfer tape by pulling it at a 180-degree angle (parallel to the glass).
If any part of the sticker remains attached to the transfer tape, press it again with the squeegee before continuing to remove the tape.
7. Finishing touches
If any air bubbles remain, gently pierce them with a pin and press with the squeegee to flatten them.
Additional Tips:
- Install the sticker in a room without drafts and at room temperature for the best results.
- The soapy water mixture allows for easy repositioning of the sticker before it sticks permanently to the glass.
- Avoid exposing the sticker to water or moisture for at least 24 hours after installation.
That's it! Your frosted glass sticker is now installed!
